{Cat Loyalty} Trina, the truest of the true.

Now here is a real life story of cat loyalty for you all.
cream tabby laying with her feet in front of her face

As you may have heard via my whining on twitter. I’ve been stuck in bed (or praying to the porcelain god rather) with the stomach flu for the last few days. It started around 11 o’clock on Saturday night, I couldn’t figure out if I wanted to vomit because I drank too much (2 drinks over 4 hours, no probably not) or if it was the horrible judging the in the Bradley-Pacquiao fight we’d just finished watching (seems much more likely). Turns out it was neither. I didn’t figure that part out until I realized that I wasn’t in Antarctica, I just had a fever.

All of this is neither here nor there, because really the point is about my girl, Trina who you met earlier. I made over 15 trips from the bed to the bathroom between 11pm and 5am that night. And while my dog snoozed and the BF grumbled and put in his earplugs, Trina took care of me. I swear.

She curled up around my head, head-butting my forehead, patting my hair away from my face. And every single time I ran to the bathroom, she followed me. And when I opened the bathroom door, she was sitting there waiting, she’d meow at me and follow me back to bed to pat my head while I tried to go over 15 minutes without puking. Rinse, repeat. What a doll.

Let me tell you, getting the stomach flu lets you know who your true friends are. Cats rule, boys and dogs drool.

Trina's tail bouncing as she runs.

{I would just like to take a moment to point out that I DID NOT raise Trina from a kitten. I adopted her when she was 10 years old, and yet, the bond is still there. In fact, we just had her two year adoption anniversary the end of May. Give older animals a chance.}

  1. Kristiina! This is the sweetest story! What an amazing cat.. I really hope in the near future, I’ll be able to have a cat!

    • She’s a doll! I didn’t think I would ever get a cat when I first started at NMHPU but now I can’t imagine life without her.
