Vegan Dupe: Madewell Transport Tote

Vegan Transport Tote Dupe

You know that super chic cognac tote you keep seeing models lug around via Pinterest? The almost $200 bag from Madewell, yup, that’s the one. Well, I have good news for you. The juniors section of Nordstrom has a dupe! The Street Level Reversible Faux Leather Tote (no animals harmed) is about 1/4 of the price of the original Transport Tote, and it’s reversible, so you get a 2 for 1. Plus it comes in tons of color options. The black/cognac version is my favorite. I love it because it doesn’t look like a reversible bag, it looks like your black bag is lined in cognac or your cognac back is lined in black.

{DIY} The Lunch Clutch a la Jill Sander

DIY Jil Sander Lunch Clutch
Here you go folks, my version of the lunch clutch. I used one of the most amazing fabrics, waxed canvas, to make it. I first of heard of it from one of my favorite lines Vaute Couture. It’s an amazing fabric that wears similar to leather. To make this you will need:

  • DIY Lunch Clutch Pattern, click to download.
  • 2 magnets
  • Super glue or the like.
  • Waxed canvas, I got mine on Etsy.
  • Sewing notions: needle, thread, pins, sewing machine, scissors etc…Continue Reading

{DIY} Gold Chain Fringe Bag inspired by Tod's

As I mentioned in the last post, I saw an amazing handbag from Tod’s while flipping through the pages of Elle one night and immediately started to plot out how I could make a leather-free version for myself. I wanted a really structured even look so I used a vinyl pouch sprayed in gold but you could do something similar by sewing pieces of chain to an existing handbag. The advantage of the pouch is the mesh gives you a really easy guide line to follow. Mine was really easy to make, just time consuming. So go ahead, put in season one of Gossip Girl, or whatever you please, and let’s get started.

Dreamy Camera Bag

It’s a dream come true, a beautiful camera bag that looks like a purse AND it’s made of “water-resistant, high-quality synthetic leather”. I found Epiphanie camera bags by googling “pretty camera bags”, after all, most are all so terrifyingly ugly. I held my breath as I clicked on the beautiful bag, practically praying it wouldn’t be real leather, when I saw that it wasn’t I could hardly contain my joy!

I’m absolutely in love with the style, Stella, shown above. Make sure to check out their website, there are lots of different styles and they are all full of practical compartments to keep your photography equipment safe. I’ve never been so excited to pack up my camera and go exploring!
