{Date Night} Valentines' Day Part Deux: Omar's Rawtopia

Okay guys, I promise I am not going to blog every picture that I put on instagram but I just couldn’t help doing a little montage again. Last night, the BF and I had a great Valentines Day. We exchanged homemade gifts {we’re buying a house on February 28!!!}, went to an amazing raw dinner, and drank champagne and watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I couldn’t have asked for a better night. I finally got a mix tape! And I made him DIY Hex Nut Cuff Links. The tutorial can be found on runwaydiy.com, check it out.

Omar’s Rawtopia is my favorite restaurant in Salt Lake City. Hands down. I wish I could afford to eat there more frequently. It is by no means the fanciest but you will not find better food or a nicer staff. We started with a macadamia pate appetizer which was the creamiest thing ever and the chocolate gogi “milk” (not pictured). BF enjoyed his favorite and one of their most popular dishes, the felafel bowl and I had the Lebanese wrap. Omar’s has the best flax crackers in the world, light, crispy and flavorful. They have inspired me to try my hand at making them again. We skipped desert because we were both so full and there were other couples waiting for tables. If you are ever in SLC, this is the place you don’t want to miss.

Last but not least, here is my handsome Mr.

{Side Note} I know a lot of people get really down on Valentine’s Day if they aren’t in a relationship they like. I saw a lot of really depressing tweets and status updates yesterday. All I can say is, if you aren’t happy, get out. I’ve been in more bad relationships than I would like to admit but at the end of the day, it might be hard but leaving is the best thing. If someone is trying to convince you that you can’t do any better, it means they know you can. If someone is making you feel that way, please leave them. I know you can do better. Okay, I’ll jump off my soap box now.

  1. Sounds like you had a great Vday and awesome pics! I actually had a good vday too which was unexpected because we have been on a rocky road- maybe vday was just what we needed to turn things around 🙂

  2. The homemade gifts sound awesome! And I love the idea of instagram montages..I am inspired to do the same b/c I have so many yummy food photos on my phone.

PS I couldn’t agree more with your soap box rant…life is too short.
PS Congrats on buying a house,

    • Oh good! I worry people who follow me on instagram will get bored of seeing the same thing again but oh well. I can write more when it’s a blog. 🙂

You should! I love all the photos on your blog so I am sure there are gems on your phone as well.
