We’re moving this weekend, yay! I’m incredibly grateful, we’re moving from a 500 sq ft studio condo to a 3 bedroom house, talk about an upgrade. One of the most exciting things about the move is that we will be able to foster again once our furbabies get settled in their new digs. In fact, I think it’s going to be just in time to foster or adopt from the Lucky In Love adoption event at Salt Lake County Animal Services March 16-18. If you are in the Salt Lake area, come check out the event and take a look around the shelter. You will be surprised at how many wonderful animals end up there.
If you live elsewhere, I really encourage to pop on over to your local animal control and see what’s going on. Yes, it’s sad to see animals in cages. But not seeing the problem won’t make it go away. There are lots of things you can do to help animals in shelters. Even if you can’t adopt of foster, consider volunteering. Many shelters want to do more to save animals but are just understaffed. Or you can simply make a donation to a rescue group. Trust me, they need it. If that still sounds like too much, just spay/neuter your own pets and keep them for their lifetime and even that will make a difference.
If you think the kind of pet you are looking for is only available from a breeder, don’t be fooled. You can find any kind of companion animal (even puppies!) available for adoption on petfinder.com if you are willing to look and if it’s really rare, wait a bit.
See you soon for Mani Monday and a completely epic DIY later in the week.
